That’s why we were honoured to donate our Sandblasting and Painting services to help refurbish a Sandvik LH517i underground loader, in collaboration with Northern Star Mining Services (NSMS). The machine has now been officially handed over to Central Regional TAFE Kalgoorlie, where it will serve as a cutting-edge training tool for apprentices across the Goldfields. With modern mining equipment increasingly complex and highly automated, this LH517i will offer apprentices hands-on experience with the same technology they’ll encounter in the field — boosting their confidence, knowledge, and employability. This month, we’re proud to celebrate a very special milestone for one of our longest-serving team members – Gav Maynard, who has officially clocked up 15 years of service with the business! Gav’s journey started back in the Boyes EQS days, where he spent 12 years working under previous owners David Boyes and Sam Fostinelli. Over the last three years, he’s continued to be a key part of the team under the new leadership of Michael and Jaymi Worthington here at Worthy Engineering Services. Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate the success of Lisa Bartlett-Torr, who has officially completed her Heavy Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship! Lisa joined Worthy Engineering in 2024, coming into the final year of her apprenticeship. She made the move with a clear goal in mind – to gain more experience, broaden her skills, and work on a greater variety of machinery than she had previously encountered. Worthy Engineering is delighted to announce the successful completion of apprentice Tarj Kelman’s journey to becoming a qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic. Tarj’s story with the Worthy Group began in 2020 when he joined as a trade assistant. He then transitioned through Worthy Parts and continued with Worthy Engineering after the acquisition of Boyes Equipment Services in 2022.
A well-liked member of the team, Tarj has embraced every aspect of his HD Mechanical training with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Now, eager to share his knowledge and experience, Tarj is grateful for the opportunity to mentor first and second-year apprentices, much like the guidance he received when he first joined Worthy Parts.
